Think metropolitan.
Think Dean & Deluca meet Whole Foods Market.
In fall 2014, St. Petersburg was graced with its own chic urban, supermarket in the remodeled and upscale Sundial retail and dining center. For the past year, Locale Market has been providing local, fresh gourmet goods and ready to go gourmet meals. With eleven kitchens on site and dozens of artisan chefs selecting and crafting one-of-a-kind experience where culinary meets innovation.
One evening, our Tampa Bay Bloggers were invited to experience the innovation behind the concept of Locale Market’s culinary adventure, described by as Chef Kirk as “Willy Wonka for foodies”, which is the perfect description for this foodie paradise of pure imagination.
Imagine such craftsmanship as onsite dry-aged steaks produced in the largest onsite dry-ager of any market in its class.
Or, beautifully masterpieces such as handcrafted decorated cakes.
Or, dessert bar churning out the creamiest and dreamiest delectable morsels of ice cream made with nitrogen.
Most everything is local at Locale Market with a few exceptions (90% of the sea selections come from the Gulf with the exception of the salmon), however, all the items sold at Locale Market pass the highest level of standards for taste and quality.
With the addition of FarmTable Kitchen, guest can enjoy all the Locale Market delicacies in a causal farmhouse setting bringing the “farm to table” experience to fruition. Along with its revamped upstairs dining, FarmTable Kitchen has rolled out a new Happy Hour Menu.
The #FTKHappyHour menu offers a variety of crowd-pleasing small plates with the Margherita Pizza and Funghi Pizza definitely the popular picks among our bloggers.
The combination of fresh basil, made in house mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes of the Margherita Pizza presented a bright, rich flavor that transported our farmtable to Tuscany.
Other popular small plate picks included the Crispy Pork Cracklins and the Locale Chicken Wings. Obviously so local and fresh, the wings produced an almost a wild, gamy flavor.
The FarmTable Kitchen #FTKHappyHour menu offers a few of the Local Market favorites perfect for a light snack to share with friends to celebrate a special occasion or just because.
All of the FarmTable Kitchen #FTKHappyHour menu selections range from $6 – $8 and are offered Monday through Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Wash the selections down with a seasonal craft beer for $3, excellent house wines for $5 or a “Market Punch” such as a Seasonal Sangria, Magic Mirror for $5.
