Welcome to #FridaySharefest 1/12/18!

Each week for our #FridaySharefest, we spotlight bloggers in our community to showcase some of the faces in our community of bloggers. This week our host is Marsha!

Hi, I’m Marsha Strickhouser and my blog is Plate Girl, and even though I’m a grown adult, I’ve been collecting plates and china since I was a girl. It’s sort of an obsession. I photograph and write about my frequent tablescapes I set at my home, as well as those I set for friends, clients, and local home decor shops. Holidays are big with me and I love to include different china available at those holidays – from department stores, cute local shops or thrift shops. I also include restaurant write ups – thanks to Tampa Bay Bloggers, and other lifestyle subjects such as travel, entertainment and food and wine festivals.

Here are a few of my favorites from the last week: In their own ways, they are each starting the new year empowering themselves and helping others to do the same.

Wendy from The Art of Style and Grace discusses going beyond our comfort zone. After blogging since 2008, Wendy, like so many of us is plagued by comparing herself and her blog to others’. We have dreams for our blogs and for ourselves. And with the beginning of the year, Wendy might just be ready to make a big leap – a leap of faith in herself.

I got to know new blogger LInda Malys Yore, who at 65, decided to start the blog Linda On the Run – a blog about travel, fitness and running for people over 65. In Getting to Know Linda on the Run, she explains that after an unwanted divorce, she has decided to make every day count. She takes us on her adventures – and it sure looks as thought she’s having fun!

Liz from No Ordinary Liz, writes a post about 5 No Ordinary ways to make traveling with an infant less stressful. Well right off the bat, I say Hats Off to Liz – because when I had infants, I just stayed home most of the time, and at the best, went to play dates. Liz shares this post from the Florida Department of Children and Families, to help educate new parents with sleeping, safety, water safety and more. Parenting is not easy, so it’s helpful to have good reminders like this. Especially when we go to new places.

In Up and Humming – A Running Blog, Flower Jovia takes us along on a different kind of run – this one as she ventures to ShowTime Speedway for Street Outlaws as her husband gears up to get his 67 Pontiac back on the street. Ahh, what we do for love! Flower claims it’s pretty exciting and we should all try it!
