Hey guys! We have now reached mid-October and we all know what that means… Halloween is just around the corner! MWAHAHA *cue dry ice*.
Well no duh, it’s not like all of the grocery stores and pharmacies were starting to creep in halloween decorations in the middle of September. But hey, is there anything wrong with a little early arrival? I know I was on board. Halloween is one of the most fun (if not the best) holidays of the year! Okay, maybe I’m a little biased. But can you really blame me? Pillsbury character sugar cookies on deck, seasonal Disney movies on repeat, fall scented candles, Momma loves it all. And not to mention… Pumpkin Spice. (Tis the season, witches.)
So let’s all cheer our PSL’s/spiked ciders to a new year of tricks and treats while I give you all an insight on what eerie adventures I’ve been on with the Tampa Bay Bloggers.
I didn’t actually go play with puppies in costumes, I wish. I just wanted a reason so post this adorable image. But what I did get to do was actually way cooler. I was given the opportunity to attend both Howl-O-Scream Unearthed at Busch Gardens as well as the very first year of Scream-A-Geddon in Dade City!
Here’s a video of me trying to contain myself at Howl-O-Scream:

I recommend bringing extra cash for food, beverages, and parking! (I paid $17 for parking on a Saturday night.) Try to stay hydrated during the day because you will be doing A LOT of walking! And deep breathing exercises, if you end up being as scared as I was.
Busch Gardens was a whole new experience for me and I highly recommend going to it with your family and friends! There are seven different haunted house locations (my favorite was unearthed), one show to rest for a bit, and they even had a bunch of the rides open! Nothing could have made my week more than the rush of air in my face during the middle of the night while riding a rollercoaster. I also appreciated the rule that characters could not touch you, it’s very reassuring when you’re trembling between two bloody clowns.
Now, Scream-A-Geddon. Where do I begin with this wild night?
I guess I’ll start off by saying that it was a CRAZY way to start off my weekend. I even dragged my roommates along because there was no way I was doing this alone! I hyped it up all week because I just had a feeling that it was going to be a good time – I was right.
Before anything, let me just tell you about our drive there. So we get off of I-75 onto State Road 52 and it is pitch black darkness for maybe five straight miles, we are all freaking out. We pull on to a small road and drive down a slim path where we arrive to Scream-A-Geddon and even the entrance looked creepy! We could see smoke and circus lights from the end of the dirt path, that’s when we knew it was real.
But don’t worry, I made it out alive. 😉
For 5 ridiculously scary haunted houses and one general attraction, you and your buddies can enjoy a creepy-crawly night for $20-$30, depending on the night.
Buy your tickets online:
Thursday – $19
Friday – $19 – $20
Saturday – $29 – $30
Sunday – $24
Tickets bought at the gate are $5 more

This one is a little different from Howl-O-Scream because in one of the houses, the actors were able to touch you and pull you into the rooms. Believe me though, you’ll want to go into this house. The actors were not agressive, and I found it to have less jump scares. Manageable for my taste! However, if you show resilience then they will let you go (I may have ran like a chicken once, or twice).
A couple things I recommend to you all is so bring bug spray. The hay ride drives through the middle of the woods and I was eaten alive, so beware! Parking was also $10 on a Thursday night, prices may go up depending on the night. And if you’re trying to save a couple bucks, eat before hand! You will be tempted to buy all of the fried food.
In the end, we left the park out of breath because it was that awesome. Now it’s your turn! I dare you. 😉
