Welcome back to #FridaySharefest!
Each week for our #FridaySharefest, we spotlight a different blogger to showcase some of the faces in our community of bloggers. This week, our host is Darla, the writer at The College Amateur and the intern of the Tampa Bay Bloggers!
Hey ya’ll! I’m Darla, and that’s me doing what I love (eating). Food is my friend, we really get along well. I am a 100 pound girl who has fallen in love with her taste palate. I’m enchanted by new flavors. Food is beautiful to me. There isn’t a sauce that doesn’t arouse me. Sometimes, (a lot of the time) I look at pictures of food for fun. Me and grease (not the movie, the artery villain) go hand in hand. Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Indian, I am not biased to any cuisine. I love it all. And cheese? Yeah, cheese tends to turn me on sometimes.
Am I a food blogger? See, that I’m not too sure. I’ve written about my food experiences a couple times, and that was real easy. But I’m not quite certain about what a qualified food blogger is. So for now, we can just say I’m pretty proud of the seductive food posts I have on my Instagram.
If you can’t tell, I’m pretty new to this blogging game. It’s always been a curiosity of mine to dip my virgin toes in the water – virgin to blogging, that is. I’ve spent time wondering, how do people make a living by simply writing about what they love? Luckily for me, the opportunity to intern for the Tampa Bay Bloggers just kind of fell into my hands. Through this internship, I’ve had plenty of exposure to the world of blogging. I truly am blessed.
In the spirit of Halloween, I will be shining some light on posts that I found useful for this spooky season!
Denise, from RunDMT shared four not-so-scary ways to celebrate Halloween! Perfect for all you mummies out there with little ones! Eh, Eh? Denise and her family visited ZooBoo at the Lowry Park Zoo, SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktackular, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and Sweetfields Farm.
Rachel, from Small Towns and City Lights, talked about her fall trip to New England. As a Massachusetts native, I especially love how she visited places that really hit home for me such as the Boston Commons and Mike’s Pastry in the North End!
Denise, also wrote an informational article on MomsRising, about the new Teal Pumpkin Project. “The purpose of the Teal Pumpkin Project is not to penalize kids with severe allergies or take the fun Halloween tradition of trick-or-treating. It simply offers an alternative way to make Halloween safer and healthier for all children”. How awesome right?
Don’t forget to check out Alexandra‘s blog on Al2getherFIT as she talks about creative alternatives to sugary candy this Halloween! I know there are a couple of you who have yet to buy your treats. 😉
And lastly, who can forget the pumpkin spice?! Not this basic college girl! *Sips on Pumpkin Spiced Latte*. I Can’t wait to try out this recipe by Nichole on the HSN Blog. Mmm, cake pops.
