Each week for our #FridaySharefest, we spotlight bloggers in our community to showcase some of the faces in our community of bloggers. This week our host is Tracy!

Hi everyone! My name is Tracy and I am over the moon excited to be participating in my first Friday Sharefest. Tampa Bay Bloggers is such an awesome group and my goal this year is to get more involved. As the writer behind two blogs, My Other City By The Bay (dedicated to my favorite things in Tampa Bay) and Eat, Drink & Be Tracy (a cooking and lifestyle blog), plus being a single mom of two, I stay quite busy.

About two weeks ago, I ran my first 5K in about 4 years for the Gasparilla Distance Classic, and something amazing happened. I can’t explain it, but that event was magical and I caught the running bug. I thought for sure I would only be good for about half the distance and would have to walk the rest, but that was not the case. I felt an overwhelming desire to keep going and finished without evening stopping for those glorious Krispy Kreme Doughnuts that they were handing out at the half way point. Before making it back to my car after the event, I registered for another 5K the following week and am doing another one this weekend. Yes, I have caught the running bug and can’t believe it took me this long in life to find something I am so passionate about. This week, in addition to celebrating another birthday, I shared my experience with that magical 5K and how excited I am to incorporate this new hobby into my life.

I have a few inspiring posts from fellow bloggers that I want to share from this past week.

If I had to pick one blogger that encourages me to go after my dreams, it is none other than Lauren, better known as Outdoorsy Diva. Like me, Lauren is a single mom and her travel adventures make me smile. This week she shared her adventures at Cayo Costa State Park, which is a hidden Florida gem. I had never heard of this park until reading about Lauren’s experience and now I really want to go and explore this remote destination that is only accessible by boat.

Next up is none other than Caitlyn from Live. Sweat. Sleep. Repeat. This week she attended Something Rotten at The Straz which is showing until this Sunday, March 12th. After reading about her spectacular evening, I am trying to see if I can somehow make it there this weekend to see this incredible performance. Her post was beautifully written and I love how she talks about celebrating ourselves and embracing who we are. “To Thine Own Self be True.” YES!

Last but not least, Marisa, who is better known for her masterpiece, Adventures of Tampa Mama, showcases the Busch Gardens Food & Wine Festival which is going on every weekend through April 30th. Can you believe that I have NEVER been to Busch Gardens other than a sneak preview of the Food & Wine Festival last weekend? Sad isn’t it? Well I plan on changing that this year and Marisa gives me a good reason to go as this festival is not to be missed. With concerts, great food and wine, it is certainly one of Tampa’s most famous yearly events.
