Hi! I am a lifestyle and foodie blogger living in South Tampa, I also write freelance for several online publications covering events and things to do in Tampa Bay. My blogging life started when my corporate life came to a crashing close following a company merger and lay-offs. Through the graciousness of the online blogging community and the steadfast support of Tampa Bay Bloggers I got my blog up and for the first time in my career was doing something I loved! I recently found something I wrote while in Kindergarten, it said, “I want to be a writer when I grow up.” Took me awhile, but I made it thanks in part to this wonderful group! I blog at OffTheSidewalk.
Here are a few of my favorite posts from this past week:
I loved Outdoorsy Diva Lauren Gay’s Blog piece on a hike she took in LAGOA DO FOGO IN THE AZORES. My favorite line Lauren wrote was: ” best trips ever in the history of evers..” Great line, great writing, excellent piece. I too love hiking and you made me feel like I was there! Thank you, Lauren, for, HOW TO HIKE LAGOA DO FOGO IN THE AZORES AND NOT DIE
I also enjoyed reading Nanci’s Howl-O-Scream: Evil Encore on her blog This Crazy Life of Mine. Years ago, following a $300 spend on Halloween candy that turned out to NOT be enough to last the night, my family hatched a plan to scare the Bejeesus out of people so they’d be afraid to come to our door following years! It worked! The boys loved our annual ‘Haunt’, they involved their friends, got terribly creative and our annual Halloween candy cost dropped significantly! A HUGE Halloween fright fan I was excited to read Nanci’s post about her visit to Howl-O-Scream 2016!
Melanie Edward’s post The Reality of Raising Multicultural Children from her wonderful blog modernmami touched my heart and gave me pause to think. As someone who supports a cottage at The Children’s Home in Tampa, adoption has long been a cause I sponsor. This is an important topic, I will be sharing this post across the internet! Thank you, Melanie, for shining a spotlight on this subject!
