Monster Jam is action-packed fun for the whole family that fans from 3 to 93 can enjoy! But for the newbie Monster Jam fan, the Monster Truck circus experience can be a little overwhelming. Gear up for Monster Jam and follow these tips to rev up your experience.
Arrive early.
Whether you print out your tickets at home or pick them up at Will Call, you will want to arrive early to beat the parking crowd. The Party in the Pits is an add-on experience for Monster Jam fans which runs from 1:30 – 5:00 that features live action stunts, up-close Monster Truck Meet & Greet and autograph sessions, but most of the activities wrap up around 4:00. The Monster Jam stars begin their move to the stadiums before the Party in the Pits ends around 4:45. Outside the Party in the Pits perimeter, fans line-up to watch which is a less known free pre-show experience, if you want an up-close experience without paying extra for it.
Tailgate.
The stadium gates open at 5:00. The opening ceremony starts at 6:30, but the fireworks and action really starts at 7:00. That’s a two hour window to kill right smack in the middle of dinner time. If you arrive early, then picnic in the parking lot to avoid spending a small fortune for food inside the stadium. Surprisingly, tons of Monster Jam fans tailgate in the parking lot before the opening ceremony. If that’s not your scene, then definitely grab a bite at a nearby restaurant before Monster Jam. (We recommend Del Frisco’s Grille.)
Print out the Monster Jam 2016 Activity Packet.
Rather than buying a Program at Monster Jam, print out the FREE Monster Jam Activity Packet. The Monster Jam Activity Pack offers fun coloring pages, design your own Monster Jam truck, games and crafts. Print it out before you attend and enjoy the activities while you tailgate before the event.
Bring ear plugs.
Ear plugs are a must for this! If you own noise canceling headphones, those will work too. With sixteen trucks with 1,500 horsepower engines competing side by side, the roars of the Monster Trucks can be a bit much for sensitive ears. For the cheapest way to survive the overwhelming roars and reduce the noise by 33 decibels, pick up a pack of ten foam earplugs for under $5 at a your local drug store.
Bring Your Own Monster Truck Hot Wheels Souvenir.
Before you attend Monster Jam, visit your neighborhood toy store to purchase a reasonably priced Monster Truck Hot Wheels. At the event, surprise your child with a brand new Monster Jam Hot Wheels, which your child will love as much as the merchandise made available at the event. If you really want to be a Monster Truck Rock Star, throw some glow sticks in with the souvenirs. But if you really have your heart set on spending money on official Monster Jam merchandise, check out all the Monster Jam gear here.
